I am a retired wildlife biologist and wildland firefighter. I grew up on a ranch in Southern Idaho and have spent my entire life working with the animals and land of the West. I have always been an avid reader. Some of my favorite authors are Hemingway, Ivan Doig, and Thomas Savage. My passion for writing began around age nine and continues to this day. I am a member of the Western Writers of America and the Western Fictioneers. Over the years, I wrote a number of western stories. However, since retiring I now have the time to write things of a longer length which I find very rewarding. Writing comes fairly easy for me as the characters seem to tell the story. I am continually amazed at some of the plot twists my books take due to the fact when I sat down at this blank computer screen, I often had no idea I would be going where my characters took me. When not writing, I can often be found hunting, fishing or hiking in the mountains of Montana and Idaho with my wife Debi and Bella our black lab shelter dog. Our two rescue cats Tubby and Gizmo hold down the fort while we're in the hills. Home is currently Western Montana
